“In his paintings Houben Tcherkelov recreates images of emissions of old banknotes and coins of the United States and other countries worldwide. Thus, he treats the subject of history, community, and belonging to the symbols of the nation. His paintings are characterized by his bold impasto, experiments in techniques and stories based on banknotes.”
